Zekeriya KAPLAN

Zekeriya Kaplan graduated as the second in Electrical and Electronics Engineering department at Karadeniz Technical University in 2015. In 2016, he started his master’s degree in Air Traffic Control department at Anadolu University. He successfully completed his master’s degree by publishing his thesis titled “An Approach Sequencing Model for Minimum Total Fuel Consumption and Most Efficient Use of Runway Capacity” in 2019. In the same year, he started his doctoral studies in the Department of Air Traffic Control at Eskisehir Technical University. In 2024, he completed his doctoral thesis titled “Optimization of Traffic Flow Under Adverse Weather Conditions”.

Selected Studies: “A multi-objective nonlinear integer programming model for mixed runway operations within the TMAs” (2023), “Mixed Integer Linear Programming Model for Conflict Resolution Problem in Generic Free Route Airspace using Segmentation Technique” (2023), “ATCO radar training assessment and flight efficiency: the correlation between trainees’ scores and fuel consumption in real-time simulations” (2021), “Scheduling of Air Traffic Controllers in Turkey: A Two-Stage Solution Approach using Goal Programming” (2023), and “Optimization of landing sequence at single-runway airports using artificial immune metaheuristic” (2020).

He participated in the Erasmus+ project “Development Of Common Atc Simulation Training Assessment Criteria Based On Future Pan European Single-Sky Targets (ATCOSIMA)”.
